On Friday we had the opportunity to present our development plans for the Barnett Bank and Laura Street Trio Buildings to the Downtown Investment Authority in a special workshop. Several DIA board members attended to meet our team, including our development partners from Molasky Group and our local construction partner, Danis Building Construction. We are happy to report that the board members asked smart questions, and were pleased with our answers. In the end, they voiced their excitement for the project and all it represents for Jacksonville. Speaking of what this project represents, it is fitting that today Governor Rick Scott visited Jacksonville to speak on jobs creation. These buildings, with our signed tenants, are positioned to bring 448 local jobs during construction, and create or move 247-347 permanent mid-to-high paying jobs to downtown after construction. We’re ready to go! So, what are our next steps? Well, we left Fridays meeting with a mission to find solutions for parking, a primary concern of DIA's. We're excited to say that we've already reached out to DIA leadership to present our plan to develop and finance a new parking structure for the project and the downtown market. We will meet with them tomorrow in advance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. We’ll keep you posted on how that goes, but we are encouraged as everyone wants to move quickly to take advantage of this opportunity for our city. We are so thankful for the community support you’ve offered so far. Your letters to City Council, DIA and the press have made a difference. Now it's time for all of us to work together and see this project through to a successful completion. Stay tuned!
