His tariffs are the first step in an unjust, unfair, and unprovoked attack on our country. Let me say it clearly- America under Donald Trump is not our friend. We've seen how short tempered and erratic this man can be, and as Canadians, we need to prepare for the worst.
None of us asked for this, and none of us deserves this. Thankfully, Canadians are resilient, and history has shown that we can outlast this. American consumers are already feeling the squeeze, and thousands of once-Trump supporters are already turning against him. You've seen how fast our country banded together in opposition of Trump, and the small actions you've taken every day have yielded formidable change.
As Trump keeps digging into our economy, here's how you can fight back:
- Shop Canadian- Every dollar spent on Canadian-made products strengthens our economy. Look for “Product of Canada” labels, support local businesses, and demand retailers spotlight homegrown goods.
- Share the Truth- Educate the people you care about. Remind them why this matters. Check in on your neighbours, and be kind to each other- we’re all on the same side of this fight.
- Vote like your Future Depends on It- Our upcoming election will be the most important vote of your life. It determines who stands up against Trump to defend our country. Show up. Bring your friends. Elect a leader who will fight for us.
I know reading the headlines each morning makes you feel sick. That's his goal. He wants us to feel powerless and overwhelmed. But we've weathered far greater storms than this, and no matter what that man does- we aren't going anywhere.
