Seit 2 Jahren setzten wir (Initiative EmmauswaldBleibt) uns nun intensiv für den Erhalt des alten Stadtwalds „Emmauswald“ und den größten Wald in Neukölln ein. Er beheimatet Jahrhunderte alte große Bäume und seltene Tierarten, wie den Habicht. Dieser soll mit teuren Eigentumswohnungen von Buwog/Vonovia bebaut werden.
Nachdem wir auf der Bezirksebene, nach vielen Gesprächen mit Parteien, Erfolg hatten (der Bebauungsplan wurde abgelehnt) und die Berliner Forsten den Friedhof offiziel als Wald deklariert haben, wurde das Bebauungsplanverfahren seitens des Senates im Eilverfahren an sich gezogen!
Es ist eigentlich Sache des Bezirks, bezirksinterne Angelegenheiten zu klären (die Planungshoheit ist im Grundgesetz festgelegt!) - daher fragen wir uns, ist das verfassungsgemäß? Werden hier Wald (Klima-Umwelt-Naturschutz) und Kapitalanlagen (vermeintlicher dringend benötigter Wohnraum) gegeneinander ausgespielt? Lösen diese Wohnungen wirklich das Wohnungsnotproblem in Berlin-Neukölln? Führt diese Bebauung nicht viel eher zu Preissteigerungen und Verdrängungen im Kiez? Wäre es 2024 inmitten einer Klima- und Biodiversitätskrise nicht viel mehr an der Zeit ein politisches Zeichen zu setzen? Sind 15.000 Unterschriften der Bürger:innen in der Petition den Politiker:innen auf Senatsebene egal?
-> Die Partei der Linken und die Partei der Grünen fordern nun in 2 offiziellen Anträgen, die Planungszuständigkeit an den Bezirk zurückzugeben und/oder einzustellen!
Diese zwei Anträge werden morgen, am 7.3. im Abgeordnetenhaus von Berlin (Niederkirchnerstraße 5) diskutiert!
Wir werden uns von 9-10 Uhr. davor zu einer Kundgebung treffen um dieses einmalige Stadtbiotop zu schützen! Unterstützt uns und den Erhalt des Waldes und seid dabei! <-

For two years now, we (Initiative EmmauswaldBleibt) have been campaigning intensively for the preservation of the old city forest "Emmauswald" and the largest forest in Neukölln. It is home to centuries-old large trees and rare animal species such as the goshawk. It is to be developed with expensive condominiums by Buwog/Vonovia.
After we were successful at the district level after many discussions with political parties (the development plan was rejected) and the Berlin Forestry Department officially declared the cemetery as a forest, the development plan procedure was fast-tracked by the Senate!
It is actually up to the district to clarify internal district matters (planning sovereignty is laid down in the Basic Law!) - so we ask ourselves, is this constitutional? Are forests (climate-environment-nature protection) and capital investments (supposedly urgently needed living space) being played off against each other here? Will these apartments really solve the housing shortage problem in Berlin-Neukölln? Isn't this development much more likely to lead to price increases and displacement in the neighborhood? In 2024, in the midst of a climate and biodiversity crisis, wouldn't it be much more time to set a political example? Do the politicians at Senate level not care about 15,000 signatures on the petition and therefore the voices of their citizens?
-> The Left Party and the Green Party are now calling in 2 official motions for planning responsibility to be returned to the district and/or to be discontinued!
These two motions will be discussed tomorrow, March 7, in the Berlin House of Representatives (Niederkirchnerstraße 5)!
