Julian Assange has been imprisoned for 1670 days
The last days of September ended with Stella Assange speaking to the newly formed parliamentary group in Luxembourg. She highlighted that "Luxembourg is the heart of Europe and plays an important role, particularly in decision-making within the European Union. Julian’s case goes to the heart of the protections necessary in an open and free society."
Trinity College in Dublin invited Stella to accept the Gold Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Public Discourse. The Society proudly awards their highest honour to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to public life.
Bitcoin Amsterdam boasted an impressive lineup of speakers. Stella Assange’s presence underlined the event’s commitment to truth and transparency. You can watch her keynote here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_66-eujGlxo
The following week Stella, Julian's father John and brother Gabriel made their way to Lugano's Plan B Forum to highlight the importance of the bitcoin community and how Cypherpunks safeguarded our personal freedom and privacy against the looming spectre of mass surveillance and digital censorship.
Another award ceremony was held by the German Academy of Arts in Berlin where Stella accepted the Konrad Wolf Prize on behalf of her husband Julian. The academy announced that “this would honor his commitment to freedom of the press, transparency and democracy. Wikileaks exposed war crimes and crimes at the highest government level.”
Meanwhile in the United States Reps Thomas Massie (R-KY) and James McGovern (D-MA), circulated a letter to their colleagues in the House and Senate, calling on President Biden to #FreeAssange. This comes after a cross-party delegation of Australian parliamentarians traveled to the States to push for the freedom of Julian Assange, an Australian citizen. For this occasion Assange Defense launched a projection campaign across the Metro D.C. area which coincided with the state visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
