In memory of a friend who constantly faced judgement and discrimination in our class, this petition is a call to take a leap towards a positive change. This friend was frequently underestimated and looked down upon by colleagues, creating not only a hostile environment, but also an unjust and biased perception of their abilities.

Discrimination hinders growth, spreads negativity, and leaves a lasting repercussion on someone's emotional well-being. Within the US education system, approximately one in four students report being a victim of bullying at school on the basis of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
