Tomorrow, I will be going to the Department for Transport to hand them a petition of over 8,500 signatures (there are 167 on paper to add to those online)! We will be there at 11.20 tomorrow morning, if you are free and in the vicinity. BUT FAR more important than the petition is geting your individual responses in by email to EastMidlandsFranchise2017@dft.gsi.gov.uk As before, I remind you that guidance is at www.facebook.com/groups/EastMidlandsPassengers/470963946620795/ However, more important than the perfect response, now is getting it in, using your own words, so if all you can do is two sentences about how bad the changes will be for you, and which particular things the consultation is saying you would like to be different/comment on, then that is great! Key messages - oppose the approach of the consultation. Keep hourly trains London/LTN/Bedford/Wellingborough/Kettering/Market Harborough/Leicester/Loughborough/Beeston/Nottingham (q4). Keep intercity trains for all stations that have them now, including Melton and Oakham (q5). The extra train compared to current timetables (q10) should go London/Luton(or AirportPwy)/Bedford/Wellingborough/Kettering/Leicester and on to Derby, sometimes going further (Sheffield or Manchester). (q10) Door-to-door journey experience (q20) requires minimising changes of train. Good luck (and thanks to those of you who have sent yours already).
