Over 500 signatures in less than the first 36 hours!

Thank you, everyone, for signing and sharing the petition. I am stunned that it has got over 250 signatures, and it is over double that already! Can you please help push it on by thinking about who _else_ you can share it with? I know a lot of people have seen and shared it on facebook. Have you emailed or tweeted about it? Those could really help. Meanwhile, the issue is starting to make the local papers, and my local paper is running a campaign on it (see the link). Please write to your local papers about the issue, too. It is a daft proposal, and if enough of us kick up enough fuss, we stand a chance of stopping it!
