MEETING WITH TRANSPORT-NSW
*Our long-awaited meeting with T-NSW is on Tuesday 22 November. Our agenda will take priority and one outcome we’ll aim for is a Public Forum ASAP.
HAC – PUBLIC AWARENESS
More flyer distribution in cafes, streets and some shops gyms has been quietly happening. It’s still clear however that too many remain unaware of the prospective closure.
Two Banner locations are up – cnr Heaton and Kanangra; and bottom of Beatrice Street (in Amiens).
STATISTICS COLLECTION
Our traffic counting data collection on Wednesday 16th went marvelously. Almost 40 volunteers manned about 10 locations at HAC and vital connecting roads and intersections with Sydney Road likely to be affected. Thanks to them we mined rich seams of relevant data – some of which even surprised us. A big thank you to all those early risers! Thanks also to the friendly waves from those passing through.
GENERAL
The campaign still has a way to go and our efforts cannot flag. We’re making some ground in awareness and may have temporarily caused T-NSW to postpone some activity. Thanks to those contributing funds and time. So far we are managing costs.
Our meeting with Transport should spell the immediate future for our campaigning and consequent future outlays.
SUPPORTER BASE – continues to grow and thanks to all who’ve volunteered for “duties”, send us encouraging notes, interest items and replies from our local member, Minister of Transport, T-NSW and NBC. That sort of continuing support dialogue is the stuff of any campaign like this. So please keep it up including any ideas we might have overlooked.
Carlo, Sarah and the HAC Sub-committee
