Delta Airlines - Please Update Peanut Policy to include Tree Nuts

Delta Airlines recently changed from serving complementary peanuts to almonds, helping those with a peanut allergy, but impacting the many others who have anaphylactic tree nut allergies.

Delta has a policy to not serve free peanuts on flights where someone has an allergy and has notified the airline.  It has no such policy for tree nuts such as the free almonds served.

Fliers have been told “that is our peanut policy, not our tree nut policy” and “tree nuts can’t cause a reaction like peanuts, that’s why we switched to almonds” multiple times.  In several cases, Flight Attendants have insisted on still serving tree nuts.

We are asking Delta to not serve free almonds or other tree nuts on flights where Delta has been notified of an allergy, and to include tree nuts in the policy above now that Delta is serving almonds instead of peanuts.

Thank you for helping us keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.
