Unfortunately, I am ashamed to say that the Edmonton School Board and Calgary School Board, etc. put pressure to have the seclusion ban lifted. I was waiting, hoping that would be the end of it. The school that my grandson goes to, they stated the room would be banned this year. Well, the ban has been lifted.

The School Boards and the Government are both deceptive. What does the School Board gain by doing this? I have no respect for the Public School system at all.

They won't even enforce the guidlines that are already there. They are just playing games with supposed proposed standards. This could be easily fixed but they are using delay tactics and being deceptive.

I received a Behavioural Support Plan today for my grandson stating that the staff are trained regarding the seclusion rooms. Really? I don't see any evidence of that since the guidelines are still to this day not enforced. They are just trying to cover their backsides.

It would seem that they waited to see if things were to calm down after those incidences where the School Boards were sued. Probably just a delay tactic and they had no intention of banning the seclusion rooms at all.

Politicians are good at talking but don't deliver as is the case here.

I'm asking all supporters to get as many people as you can to sign this petition and then it will need to be presented to the Education Minister as an attest to this affront on all those who have Special Education children in the Public School system.
