03-22-2022 Alief ISD’s “Damon Barone Rule,” Changes Board Policy BED (Local)

At tonight’s March 22, 2022, Alief ISD’s school board meeting the school board voted unanimously to change board policy BED (Local), decreasing patron presentations from 5 minutes to 3 minutes. In layman’s terms, after Mr. Barone’s March 08, 2022 school board patron presentation the board has made a concerted effort to further mute the voice of parent Damon Barone, whom speaks at every patron presentation opportunity. It is very peculiar how all of the issues concerning education and district business, how reducing patron presentation times by 2 minutes has jumped to the top of the district’s priorities; more importantly this change in board policy made it to the boards agenda on March 11, 2022, three days after the March 8th board meeting, and has now been approved despite the district being on spring break. Yet the district has loss an abundance of teachers and staff this year, and record a loss of 2,600 students this school year. #TheDamonBaroneRule #TheyClaimToWantParentalInvolvement
