Alief Superintendent HD Chambers is steady sending out puff pieces that the STAAR test is not an accurate or fair evaluation to hold HIS job accountable of for educating the students in our district. However, the staff at my daughters school (Miller Intermediate) had a meeting last week with all of the students and advised them that if they did not pass the STAAR test this year the students who failed would NOT be able to take the electives they selected next year. Is this not a double standard? It’s real convenient that HD Chambers is spending so much time and energy attack the credibility of STAAR ratings now that TEA is waiting to see how Alief does to determine if the State of Texas is going to take over the 6 schools which are currently on the improvement required status. The STAAR test has been around since the 2011-2012 academic school year, and now all of a sudden it’s a horrible assessment to hold Superintendent Chambers and his administration accountable for their jobs. Then why are y’all messing with the teachers and the students then?
Alief school board elections are coming up in November of 2019. Make sure that you vote! “All I want to say is that they don’t really care about us.”
