No Experience Required to Be Sued

No one in their right mind would go to a doctor to have surgery knowing that their presumed doctor had never gone to school for medicine, in fact the presumed doctor had never even taken a biology course in high school, let alone obtained any formal medical schooling or a degree. Any medical organization/practice would be a lawsuit waiting to happen if they hired said “Doctor No Experience At All,” and allowed them to learn medicine on the job with live human patients. Yet for some reason Alief ISD, under the leadership of Superintendent Henry D. Chambers Jr., practices this backwards thinking when hiring Human Resources personnel. Alief ISD has 7 Human Resources personnel all of whom were hired without an ounce of Human Resources experience, none of whom ever even served as a secretary of an HR department, let alone received an HR degree or formal training. Yet these 7 district employees were all hired/promoted merely on the basis of being former principals of a school. Now wonder the Alief ISD continues to willfully and knowingly break federal laws, break state laws, and break local laws as they relate to employment practices. No one has a clue what Human Resources legal duties and responsibilities truly are, or are not for that matter. Maybe if Alief ISD hired someone with actual HR experience the district would not need 7 people to do one job. I’m not even going to talk about the combined annual salaries for these 7 HR personnel positions, Elizabeth Veloz-Powell Asstistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Darrell Alexander Executive Director of HR, Stacie Gibson Director of HR, Luis Olivas Director of HR, Ida Wall Director of Risk Management, Rosa Martinez HR Supervisor, Joi Bailey HR Coordinator. So basically everyone owes Henry D. Chambers a favor/favors for allowing them to unqualifiedly be promoted, while district employees, parents, and students suffer through daily malpractices of district policies and procedures. I suppose this also means that Superintendent Chambers must also personally be held responsible for his 7 HR-like employees when they willfully or inadvertently violate laws. Class action lawsuit waiting to happen!
