I heard a statement from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), that blew my mind. TEA said, “school board members historically do not know how to look at or interpret data.” For those who do not know, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. TEA is headed by the commissioner of education. Thus if the school boards do not know how to look at or interpret data and they are the “Bosses” of administrators it is easy to understand how Superintendents and administrators are able to hoodwink school board members, parents, and community members so easily.
