There was some good news announced this week.
STATE and FEDERAL FUNDING FOR TRANSPORT PROVIDED FOR WESTERN AND SOUTH WESTERN SYDNEY
An allocation of $100 million (State and Federal funding) has been made for the South West Sydney Rail business case.
There’s also $327.1 million (State funding) for delivery of new Western Sydney bus services connecting Penrith, Liverpool and Campbelltown to the new airport and Bradfield city.

AN INDEPENDENT UPDATE ON THE LCC LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE NSW STATE GOVERNMENT
THREE Important Points to Note
1) The interim report was removed from the OLG website "without prejudice as an act of Good Faith"
2) The Court Orders were agreed to "By Consent" in order to secure a final court date.
3) The Orders only apply until the last day of the Court Hearing IE 9th August 2024.

UPDATE - MAYOR OF LIVERPOOL AND HIS LIBERAL PARTY VOTING BLOCK vs the NSW State Government
An Update on the legal hearing from the Land and Environment Court held on Friday 26th July 2024.
INTERIM REPORT REMOVED FROM OLG WEBSITE
The Office of Local Government has stated “While proceedings are on foot, the department has removed the interim report containing the investigators advice and recommendations to the government from its website without prejudice as an act of good faith,”.

COURT ORDERS GRANT "BY CONSENT"
While the Mayor of Liverpool has stated that the Government has "conceded" to all the terms sought by LCC that is not quite correct as there is a difference between conceding a legal arguement and entering into an legal action "By consent" which is what actually occurred.
The facts are that "By consent, the court granted a series of injunctions in favour of the (Liverpool) Council:
Mr Glover is restrained until the last day of the final hearing from conducting any public inquiry and
the Minister is restrained until the last day of the final hearing from suspending council, postponing the election of Council and appointing an administrator.
The Court dates set down for the hearing are the 8th and 9th August 2024."

The key is that "the NSW Government has said it would cease (suspend) all action against the council until the matter is fully heard in Court on the 8th and 9th of August."
Therefore everthing now hinges on who wins their case in Court on the day, that will determine the outcome of what happens going forward.
There is still the very real possibility that a Public Inquiry could proceed and that Liverpool Council could be suspended, an Administrator could be appointed and the Council Elections could be Postponed.
The Mayor of Liverpool has been successful in having a Hearing date established on the 8th August instead of going to a concerns hearing in September and then having to ask for a Hearing date.
Now the future of Liverpool City Council ALL depends on outcome / Verdict of the Court case.

Ultimately the only winners in cases like this are the Lawyers who get paid a substantial amount of money.
So it's back to a case of wait and see.
The only way to ensure the integrity of the Mayor, Councillors and Staff is to proceed with the State Government Public inquiry,
