EMAIL SENT TO LIVERPOOL CEO ON 7th October 2019 at 4.11pm

Good Afternoon Ms Fishburn

At the July 2019 Council meeting on Page 50 Minutes of the
Ordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday, 31 July 2019
ITEM NO: NOM 01
FILE NO: 180998.2019
SUBJECT: Commuter Car Parking Crisis

"That Council write to the relevant Minister as well as the
Premier reminding them of their commitment of providing
commuter parking at Edmondson Park Train Station and request
a firm time frame of the delivery of such parking provisions."

Can you please advise IF that correspondence has been sent
and IF replies have been received?

Is it possible to obtain copies of Correspondence Sent and Received??

Is it Possible to Obtain Information on the number of letters sent
to the Premier, Minister for Transport, Department for Transport
regarding the Car Parking Crisis at Edmondson Park and Leppington
during 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and the number of replies received?

Based on recent Local Newspaper Articles and TV reports it would appear that we are not much closer to have additional car Parking Spaces provided Ed Park and Leppington Stations than we were years ago.

Also from the article In the past 12 months, 84 motorists were slapped with fines for parking illegally at the station, with a total of 240 fines issued since January 1, 2017, according to Transport for NSW.

Could you advise IF fines issued by Liverpool Council Rangers were included in the Figures quoted. IF NOT could advise the number of fines issued by Council Rangers during the same Period?

Also, Any additional information you can provide regarding the timing of
the promised Car Parking Spaces by the State Government would be
most welcomed and will be emailed to the now 7700 plus #MoreParkingNow Car Parking Crisis Petition Supporters.

I await your prompt reply

EMAIL TO ANDREW CONSTANCE WITH QUESTIONS

Will I receive an answer this Time??

Good Afternoon Mr Constance

PARKING FINES - AN ARTICLE IN THE LIVERPOOL LEADER (with information provided by Dept of Transport)

Commuters risking fines to get a park at Edmondson Park train station

Cindy Ngo, Liverpool Leader September 30, 2019 3:07pm

Residents in Sydney’s southwest are continuing to take risks at Edmondson Park railway station, where more than 200 fines have been issued since 2017 to drivers who park illegally, data reveals.

In the past 12 months, 84 motorists were slapped with fines for parking illegally at the station, with a total of 240 fines issued since January 1, 2017, according to Transport for NSW.

For years, commuters have called for more parking at the station, with signs it was at capacity as early as 2016 — one year after it opened.

Recent images taken by the Leader show some commuters are still resorting to desperate measures and risking fines by parking on pavements and in prohibited areas.

In January, the NSW Government promised an additional 700 parking spaces at a cost of $40 million.

The boost will triple the station’s capacity and take the total number of spots to 1100.

A Transport for NSW spokeswoman said the project was in the early stages of planning.

“Site investigations to help inform the concept design for the extra carparking spaces will be carried out in the coming weeks,” the spokeswoman said.

“We expect additional parking spaces to be completed by around mid-2020, subject to planning approval and community consultation.”

The spokeswoman said an on-demand bus service operating in Edmondson Park aimed to “support customers in their first and last mile and encourage them to leave their car at home”.

“The service has experienced continual growth in patronage which is helping to ease the parking issues in the area.”

THIS ARTICLE HAS A NUMBER OF ISSUES THAT ARE A CONCERN AND ARE QUESTIONABLE

Have Fines from ALL sources been included Council Rangers, Highway Patrol, Police, and Transit Officers? From Conversations that I have had with Commuters at both ed park and Leppington Stations the number of fines that have been stated as being issued sounds low especially when you have people stating that they have received numerous fines and also when multiple people have stated they claim to have seen numerous cars receiving fines (up to 80 in 1 day).
WHY is "the project in the early stages of planning" when funds for Consultancy Fees were put into the 2018 Budget?
Melanie Gibbons MP for Holsworthy says that the project is "On Track" for delivery of the Project (Hopefully a Multilevel carpark) YET “Site investigations to help inform the concept design for the extra carparking spaces will be carried out in the coming weeks,” the spokeswoman said.

This prompted these questions

3a) Has a time frame been set to commence the process of building a Multi Level Carpark at Edmondson Park Station?

3b) Has a site been selected yet?
3c) Have plans been prepared?
3d) Have tenders for construction being called for ?

Also In the 2018 budget an amount of $500,000 was allocated to carry out investigations into providing

consultants reports for solutions to the Car Parking issues.

4a) Have those reports been done?
4b) What was the outcome of the reports?
4c) Are the reports available to the public?

4d) Can you forward me a copy of the reports?

Your Prompt reply to these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Yours Sincerely

Michael Andjelkovic JP
