Good Evening Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters
After my email to the Minister requesting information about the investigations being carried out and the usual non informative reply I ended up receiving two more replies from Paul Lynch MP for Liverpool and Melanie Gibbons MP for Holsworthy.
A big Thank You to Mr Paul Lynch MP for Liverpool who has lodged a question on Notice to Andrew Constance - Minister for Transport and Infrastructure asking the questions that I asked in my email that were not answered. MAYBE we might get some straight answers this time.
And the Reply from Melanie Gibbons is below - I AM SO GLAD TO KNOW THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN. According to the reply from the Ministers office that will be Walk, Catch a bus or ride a bike to the Station as they are the options being investigated.
Dear Mr Andjelkovic
Thank you for your email.
I am disappointed that you feel “not a lot has happened” in relation to commuter parking at Edmondson Park Station. We are working toward the same goal and I am horrified with your assertion that the way to get action is the death or injury to a school child. This is certainly not the case.
I reiterate that the investigations are not looking at IF something should happen but to HOW it should happen.
I am happy to ask the Minister’s office to look into Mr Lane’s idea of utilising the Trash and Treasure space in Prestons.
I will also look into why the lady, from Transport for NSW, who you met, is of the belief that nothing is being investigated. It is in no way a “smokescreen” for anything – it is the responsible way to find out how we can do something before we announce any solutions or funding which may not be adequate.
Additionally, I will continue to engage with the Minister’s office and work on solutions that will see our locals enjoy an easier start and finish to their working day.
I will contact you again when I have an official announcement to share.
Yours sincerely
Melanie Gibbons MP
State Member for Holsworthy
THE ONE THING I WILL SAY IS THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RHETORICAL QUESTION AND AN ASSERTION. And the question that parents at Leppingtion Primary School have raised on numerous occasions is WHAT WILL IT TAKE? and they have asked Will it take the death or injury of a child before something is done. (Next update to cover this in detail).
PLEASE KEEP SHARING THE PETITION LINK AND VIDEOS AND ARTICLES AND COMMENTS.
Yours sincerely
