Why further investigations?
Re: “Car-parking crisis petition update” (Liverpool Champion, July 23).

When you sit down and think about it you have to ask why investigations are necessary when both Edmondson Park and Leppington train stations are in the town centres of masterplanned communities and those plans are already approved and in place? The zonings are set, the areas are allocated and even the population densities are known.

In my opinion the $550,000 allocated to the "investigation" of the car-parking crisis is nothing more than a taxpayer-funded smoke-screen to hide the issue in the lead-up to the NSW state election in March.

MP Melanie Gibbons said: “The investigations will look into whether to go up, or out, if we need to purchase land, and the like. It’s important to get it right."

But, as I said, that’s already been determined, so why go over the same thing again and waste taxpayers’ money?

PETITION TARGET INCREASE TO 10,000 PLUS

In order to send a Message to Macquarie St and hopefully create a discussion in Parliment as - Petitions of more than 10,000 signatures will be scheduled for discussion in the House. Dates for petition discussions are published on the Parliament's website and in the Business Paper

I look forward to your support in sharing the petition and continuing to get the message out there so that Hopefully the NSW Liberal Government will make the Commitment to building Multi Level Car Parks at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations.
