Good Afternoon Fellow Residents, Commuters and Supporters.
Greetings from Pefkohori in Greece. Sorry for the delay in posting as I have been travelling.
Here is the official response on behalf of the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure dated 5th July 2018
Dear Mr Andjelkovic
Thank you for your correspondence to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure about car parking at Edmondson Park and Leppington stations. The Minister asked me to respond on his behalf.
I am pleased to advise funding has been allocated in the 2018 NSW Budget to investigate options to provide additional commuter car parking at Leppington and Edmondson Park Stations.
Your suggestions for temporary and multistorey car parks will be considered as part of this planning work which start in the coming months.
Thank you for taking the time to write.
Your Sincerely
Mark Coure MP
In my opinion this is nothing more than a token gesture to stall for time and put the Carparking Crisis Petition on the back burner until after the Election due in March 2019.
No mention of the amount of funding or the time to be taken to do the research /investigation / feasibility for my suggestions.
Compared to the $18 million Election Promise from the Labor Party (which I still would like a few more details on) it's not a real commitment to fix the problem being experience by Commuters.
I will be posting another update regarding the rules regarding petitions in NSW.
At this point in time there is not much that can be done but I will certainly be putting my thinking cap on.
It's a case of let's see what the Government comes up with by the end of August when I return to Australia.
Yours sincerely
