Edinburgh University: we want nap pods

The Issue

Universities have failed to make student well-being a priority for too long.

Brutal coursework deadlines, mid-term exams, and group projects leave many students with no choice but to go without sleep.

Students shouldn't have to choose between sleep and work. In fact many studies show that a lack of sleep directly correlates to poor results and stunted learning.

We propose that Edinburgh University implement nap pods on campus. We believe that by giving students the oppurtunity to rest on campus, student well-being will increase and so will results.

Giving students a designated space to rest will also free up spaces in the Library. Often students will sleep at their desks rather than return home which takes up valuable seating space.
