NTS GHOST LIGHT + OTHER INSIGHTS

To note - it's been highlighted that there are 2 disabled artists in NTS Ghost Light this year. We have mentioned that googling names in a programme is an ineffective form of research, however, EIF have stated that the numbers counted and being questioned are "largely correct" in their most recent email to us.
It is also worth nothing that this is in a project created by another organisation, NTS. And their efforts do not mirror the rest of the EIF programme.
What remains is that there is a need for an open discussion on how EIF, subsidised by Scottish taxpayers, can ensure it stops failing artists and be representative of Scotland. Indeed, around half a dozen artists have reached out to ask what the representation of Scots and Gaelic artists, organisations and art works are, again highlighting that the intersections of inequality are multiple. The only way these can be properly explored is by engaging with those currently absent from the organisation to develop a robust and reliable means of creating a representative festival.
