Hi, The Evans Law firm has filed a class action suit against the Newby Dump. The Dump has agreed to settle the case for 1.2 million dollars. What this means is that approximately 10,000 homes within a 1.5 mile radius will be eligible for a small amount of money (probably less than $500 after lawyer fees). In return the residents agree to never hold Newby dump responsible again for foul smells and such. This is a ridiculous settlement ! Now here's the problem - unless you write a letter, you automatically become a part of the class action suit which means you sign away all your rights in return for $500. We have to stop this !!! The only people benefiting are the Dump and the lawyers. Odor Leadership we need a plan to ask people to object to this settlement - a letter must be written before February 9 I am not a lawyer Odor Leadership can we have the city lawyer recommend a course of action.
