This petition was started because too many times, in this social media age, I have witnessed people jumping to conclusions and passing judgment on someone before the facts can be laid out and an investigation can be done. The students of ECU wanted a platform for their voice to be heard about the negative campaign started against the ECU Chancellor, a man that many students of ECU look up to. The false, negative perception that was immediately played out in the news was not acceptable, and students want an expedited investigation completed before this man’s professional reputation is negatively impacted without due cause. 

Students of ECU wanted a chancellor that was for the students and Dan has shown himself to be that man. Students were excited to see him in downtown Greenville being friendly and approachable. We hope the President and the board of trustees comes to the decision to reinstate chancellor Gerlach.
