In a recent major purge of child avatars, you closed at least one account of someone completely innocent. Last Tuesday, September 6th, you banned someone incapable of what she was accused.

Peace Smythe is a very good friend of mine in both real life and Second Life. She has been a resident of Second Life for over eight years, and was a long time estate manager at New Citizens Inc (NCI). She resides in Second Life as someone who only wishes to live a happy childhood for once (like most child avatars), to spend time with friends and loved ones, and to make people smile.

When she appealed her ban, the person processing the appeal gave the boilerplate response, clearly not having read the appeal or done any investigation, and told no further communication would be read. Case: 02387374

When I attempted to appeal on her behalf, I was told they couldn't share other people's account info, and the ticket was closed. Case: 02388003 To be clear, I never asked for any account info, even what she'd been banned for. I merely was demanding that your Abuse investigators actually do some investigation. The person who replied clearly hadn't done any more work than the previous.

I opened a second support ticket and reiterated that point. The person who replied to that at least read my ticket enough to insist that *all* abuse reports are thoroughly investigated, then closed the ticket. Case: 02388659

This is a lie. I know with all certainty that either the responder was lying to me, or his subordinates are lying to him. If Peace Smythe's case had been investigated at any point, she would have been reinstated forthwith.

Listening into people's private messages to find things to ban them for is troubling, to say the least, and that is clearly what is happening. Banning them without an investigation or fair appeal process is beyond the pale.

You will lose money acting like the KGB, and that's precisely what Linden Lab has been doing. If I have to move to another grid to be with my friend Peace, you will lose $1400 a year in tier alone. Likewise, the owner of our home estate is pondering relocating to another grid as well, due to Peace and others who were banned in the same time frame, and she spends over $10,000 on tier per year on our eight sim estate.

No one is asking for a TOS violation to be overlooked "this one time". We're just asking to be treated fairly. The TOS should work both ways, and your paying customers deserve some respect.

Investigate Peace Smythe's actions to your hearts' content, then reinstate her. Then knock off the witch hunt.
