Petition updateWe're Asking eBay To Stop Selling LiesWhat is eBay's Offensive Materials Policy?

Good work everybody!  eBay is starting to notice.  As reported earlier eBay added Qanon material to its Offensive Materials Policy.

Yesterday, 12/14,  Impact@eBay.com informed me in an email, that they will expand the policy to include "...material with 'stop the steal' language". That's great news, but it's not quite enough.  Here's why:

So far eBay has removed items with the phrase 'stop the steal' but the endless variations of the premise--often wrapped up in a slanderous 'epithet or slur' to quote eBay's Offensive Item Policy.  Yet the remain.

Those who committed violence at the Capitol and now remain a threat to civil society are primarily motivated by a firm belief in the false and persistent political messaging of fraud and illegality in the 2020 election.  The facts have refuted these statements, and yet the lies are condoned by eBay.

And it's not just offensive gear. The eBay Community, a forum eBay provides for users has numerous threads still active that promote these lies without comment from eBay.

While eBay sidesteps these realities, we cannot. The slogans are empirically false and induce a feeling of moral outrage and righteous justification in those who are poisoned by them.  They are simply said, an incitement to violence.

We call on eBay to join Etsy, Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, Apple, Google, IBM, Microsoft and others, to stop the big lie and to label or moderate these views on The eBay Community 'Soapbox' forum.
