I am reaching out to you to ask you to email your local MP to ask them to add their name to the #DumpTheScales open letter to the Secretary State highlighting the shocking treatment that people affected by eating disorders are facing where people with eating disorders are being sent to die ordering marked as untreatable. The more signatures we get the more chance we have of getting a commitment to tackle this!

Draft Letter to your Local MP 

Dear X,
As you know, the current state of eating disorder treatment across the country is shocking. We have an epidemic on our hands, treatment being withdrawn, people being told they are not sick enough to treat, people being told they are too sick to treat, and teenagers being moved on to palliative care pathways. 

Whilst we need to ensure funding services is adequate, there are a few key things that we need to see happen before the next General Election, one of these actions is an investigation in to all eating disorder deaths to ensure that we can learn from what has happened and move forward in a way to save lives. 

On the 26 April, Hope Virgo is sending a letter to the Secretary of State which has been signed by MPs from all parties. As a member of your constituency, I wanted to ask you to sign it. The letter shared the current state of eating disorder treatment where people are being marked as untreatable and calls for an investigation into all eating disorder deaths so we can learn from past mistakes and improve treatment.
