Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, Medical Officer of Health for Eastern Ontario, should resign his duties as Chief Medical Officer. He is the same doctor that allowed cruiseship patientsto stay at NAV Canada in Cornwall, Ontario so they could be isolated from COVID-19. Doctor Roumeliotis said “ there is low risk orno risk at all”. After hosting the patients, shortly thereafter, Ontario, Canada and the rest of the world declared a state of emergency due to the global pandemic.

Dr. Paul Was not just hypocritical when it came to Covid patients at NAV Canada, he then made masks mandatory based on personal opinion from doctors on a poll conducted in Ottawa, Ontario. Not one single doctor from the Eastern Ontario region, the Ottawa region or the Toronto region had scientific evidence and facts backing up why masks help stop the spread of the virus. After masks became mandatory in these three regions most of Canada followed suit. In March, Ontario had only 400 cases a day and this number has recently dropped to 110 cases a day without masks. In the Eastern Ontario region, there were no more than 55cases in a month (March) population of approximately 265,000 residences. All the numbers have dropped since then. But for some reason, on September 17, Dr. Paul has imposed new restrictions, which include the forced wearing of masks in parking lots. 

MANDATING WEARING MASKS IS WRONG!

There is no valid health reason for mandated mask wearing. The World Health Organization (WHO) admitted that asymptomatic transmission is rare. The United States Centre for Disease Control (CDC) admits that the number of infections/deaths is below pandemic levels. Compared to the levels we had in April and May, the numbers of new cases havedeclined significantly as well as the rate of deaths have all but disappeared.

Once again, Dr. Paul pushed social gathering restrictions in the SD&G region saying “One way or another it will be here I can guarantee that.” Even though the numbers in Eastern Ontario don’t warrant this new restriction. The Premier of Ontario ended up getting the restriction for the rest of the province of Ontario that only allows 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. Dr. Paul also lied about cases in our region, He said there was 50 from August 1st to September 17 and that was an average of more than 1 case per day. The total was 43 using the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) numbers. Now Dr. Paul has mandated masks to be worn in parking lots and he is sneaking more and more things in the mandate without people realizing or noticing it.
