Despite large amounts of local support, East Wittering and Bracklesham Parish council are blocking the re-development of an existing skatepark facility at Downview Park East Wittering.

Previous concerns about lack of parking, use of green-space and potential anti-social behaviour have been responded to by a professional green-space planner who put together a very useful report which has NOT been properly assessed by the Parish Council.

The report also shows that currently the provision for "Play Space" in the area is at 31.6% of what the local standards of provision require.

The refurbishment and improvement of the existing facility at Downview Park would help the Parish Council towards providing this play space whilst massively improving local facilities.

The Wittering Skate Park group can raise the funding to ensure that the building work does not bare a financial burden upon the Parish.

We just urgently need the Parish Council to re-consider their decision and show that there is a huge amount of local support and requirement for this.
