NO TO FOREST ROW LIBRARY CUTS!!!
This petition had 21 supporters
We, the undersigned residents and workers of Forest Row, are shocked that East Sussex County Council are considering a 20% cut to our Library's already unsatisfactory quota of opening hours.
Currently opening a mere Five Half Days Per Week (details below) and constantly brimming with literary fans of all ages (to the point where a second staff member has been recruited); we are opposing any cuts as they are, in the interest of our Community, unwarranted and unrealistic considering the popularity of THIS LIBRARY.
Current opening hours...
Monday 2pm – 5pm (TO BE CUT!!!)
Wednesday 10am – 1pm
Thursday 2pm – 5pm
Friday 2pm – 5pm
Saturday 10am – 1pm
The plan will see the loss of Monday afternoon's hours, leaving a whopping three day gap in the schedule and only TWO WEEKDAY AFTERNOONS for School Students to attend as well as leaving only TWELVE accessible hours for the rest of us including the hundreds of home educating families of Forest Row for whom this is their main offline literary educational resource.
Cuts MUST be appropriate and relative to ACTUAL usage.
