We saved Huntly Park as a community. Now, I want to use the positive momentum we have generated and improve the park for all. Following the success of our petition, I am taking forward plans to revitalise the pavilion. I am a bit of a traditionalist. My ideas will not involve commercial development. I have consulted with many who live close to the park and I have assured them of that. Using the pavilion to benefit the park, such as for a Giffnock Gardening Club (which would work in the park to enhance its natural beauty) and as a focal point for our community Saturday litter collections are two ideas. I would also like to see the pavilion become the meeting place of Giffnock Community Council. And yes, being able to have a cup of tea or coffee in the place would be nice too. I will keep you posted.
