Dear friend of Huntly Park,
The chair of East Renfrewshire Planning Applications Committee has reiterated that Huntly Park is protected. She has referred to the Local Development Plan. That is helpful, however, there is no dispute over what is written in the plan. What we are campaigning for is guaranteed legal protection for Huntly Park to put a stop, once and for all, to speculation about our park's future.
That can be done by East Renfrewshire Council applying for Fields in Trust status for the area of the park not currently protected by trust status. Fields in Trust Scotland have advised that we keep using the park and campaigning. Through our ongoing activities in the park and this petition, we are doing all the right things.
