Councils need to ban the use of Glyphosate, particularly in areas of public use.

The issue

The WHO (World Health Organisation) has declared that Glyphosate based weed killer "probably causes cancer", this is an increased warning from "possibly causes cancer". They've also estimated that there will be an increase of 70% more new cancers over the next two decades. Isn't it time we made a positive change to reduce any risk factors that are presented to us, don't we owe that to our children? Currently, local councils spray weeds with glyphosate based products around children's play grounds, parks, schools and near rivers. This is a blatant disregard for our health, particularly when other options are available. We need to send the message to local councils that we care and we don't want these chemicals in our public areas. Councils are appointed by us, the residents and it's about time they listened to our concerns.
