We’ve reached 800+ signatures - THANK YOU!

Hey y’all, as of today over 800 faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and community members have signed to show they care about Pirate Nation safety. Thank you! I greatly appreciate your support. If ECU does not release a statement or announcement by the end of tomorrow, I will be emailing this petition to members of ECU’s administration to urge them to remove students and faculty from the building.
Some have pointed out that on ECU’s on-campus asbestos location list Brewster is listed. However, it is listed as “presumed” and not “yes”, which I assume means they have not tested for it.
I find it important to note that even if asbestos is not present in the building, there could be another underlying issue or hazard not found in the inspection done in 2019. I highlighted asbestos in the original petition post because that is the most common theory as of right now.
Either way, we as a community clearly do not feel safe embarking on the return of Pirate Nation in this building and thanks to all of you, we may not have to. Once again, thank you for signing and sharing!
