Amazon Web Services and Windows Azure both charge 12 cents per GB for data transfer for low end users. It gets cheaper per GB as you use more data. At these prices 100 GB of data transfer costs just $12. 5 GB of data transfer costs just 6 cents. Data transfer is very cheep for providers which is why most internet service providers base there rates on speed not data usage. The prices EBTC is being charged are higher because they do not have as many users as Amazon and Microsoft, but if Amazon and Microsoft can transmit 100 GB of data for $12 I find it hard to believe that EBTC needs to charge $300.
