Worldwide many beautiful areas of forest and woodlands are destroyed for minerals and timber and in the process, many animals lose their homes as a result. Over the past 40 years approximately 20% of the Amazon rainforest has been lost. Everyday more than 150 acres of forest is destroyed every minute, putting the animals that live in them more at risk of becoming endangered. Already, there many forest based animals that are close to extinction. The destruction needs to stop.
