Letter to Northfields Councillor - David Millican

David Millican took the time to reach out regarding this petition - here is my email to him regarding possible next steps... Dear Councillor Millican, May I thank you for taking the time to respond to the petition started two days ago regarding the increase in fly-tipping in Northfields and I confirm that I would be happy to work with you in order to find a constructive solution. The petition raises a particular concern - that some of Ealing's residents weren't consulted regarding their ability to cope with domestic waste inside their homes prior to the introduction of the wheelie bins. The bin bags in the photo accompanying the petition contained soiled nappies and I can only imagine the difficulties families of young children face living in small apartments if they are unable to get their domestic waste stored satisfactorily during the two week collection period. Other solutions to this problem are available, and while the petition refers to collective bins, it seems to me that future solutions will only be sustainable if people are consulted on their needs. I look forward to continuing this discussion with you and your colleagues at Ealing Council and hope that a mutually satisfactory solution can be found - and found quickly!
