A petition directed to Swedish government to reconsider the annual bear cull
Every year the Swedish government allows an annual bear hunt. Hunters, mainly Norwegian, are queuing up to pay good money for a license to kill bears in Sweden. The number of bears killed every year is sketchy, but what is a fact is that this year Sweden has allowed the bear hunt to start two weeks earlier than previous years. It is also evident judging by the "trophy-photos" posted from Sweden that there isn't any monitoring done regarding the age of the bears killed (some a merely big cubs), never mind the numbers killed each year.
For such a forward thinking beautiful country I would like to ask the Swedish government why this has to happen. The population of Sweden is under 10 million people yet it is one of the largest countries in Europe. I'm sure there is enough room for the people of Sweden and the bears of Sweden to live in this fabulous country.
