Keep Leytonstone Jobcentre Open!

Keep Leytonstone Jobcentre Open!
The Issue
The DWP has launched a "consultation" over the proposed closure of Leytonstone Jobcentre.
The closure will result in customers having to travel upto 3.7 miles to the nearest Jobcentre in Walthamstow, increasing their travel fares, making this alot more difficult for vulnerable customers with disabilities and customers with children to access DWP services. As well as removing public services and facilities away from local employers and training organisations and the removal of Civil Service jobs from Leytonstone will also negatively affect the local economy.

PCS North and Outer East London branch is now looking to hold a further demonstration at Leytonstone Tube station on Saturday 18th of February 2016, 12pm - 1pm. Please do your best to attend and help spread the word by sharing widely.
Supporters are also being asked to send in comments in response to the DWP consultation - which can be accessed here:

PCS are also preparing a briefing document - which sets out some key concerns in relation to the proposed closure in relation both to staff and users of Jobcentre services.
This is being supported by Waltham Forest Trades Council, UNITE Community East London branch and members of Leyton & Wanstead CLP.
