Help local D & G Childminders to keep local SCMA Childminding Development Support Officer

Help local D & G Childminders to keep local SCMA Childminding Development Support Officer
The Issue
Please help local Dumfries & Galloway Childminders save our local Scottish Childminding Development Support Officer! Without this vital support the consequences will be that the 128 Childminders who are currently helping local Families could drastically reduce!
Lisa Callander-Bone, our dedicated local SCMA Development Officer is to be made redundant at the end of June 2019 due to Dumfries & Galloway Councils recent funding cuts. Instead from July 2019 if a Childminder is in need of support with any day to day issues, we are to contact SCMA Head Office in Stirling as there will be NO one locally. Any future SCMA Childminding related training will need to be completed online and not every Childminder has a computer!
If you are a D & G Registered Childminder OR a Family who currently use a local Registered Childminder, Please Sign and Share this Petition to help us to highlight the important role a Registered Childminder plays in the day to day care of our young Children, from birth to Primary School in the Dumfries & Galloway Area.
The consequences of us doing nothing will mean that the local D & G Childminders who decide not to sign or are not eligible to sign an Early Learning & Childcare Council Contract to deliver 600 hours or the new 1140 hours, will be left unsupported and could eventually mean that in such an isolated Childcare role, the current number of 128 Registered Childminders will drastically reduce!
