Many, if not most of the schools in Duluth, have a locked entry and require someone to grant access to the school during regular hours. Lakewood is set up for individuals to walk into the building through unlocked front doors and continue throught the main office.  If the office is unattended at the time, anyone can walk into the school.  Access to our children and staff is easily done, the only doors that are locked do not prevent someone from entering the building.  The doors should be locked to protect our children and those that teach them.  Lakewood Elementary should not be the only school that does not have a secured entry.
