Tuesday night Oct. 16 at 7pm is the City Council FINAL VOTE to approve or deny. The Dublin Planning Commission already voted to DENY the project noting environmental and safety issues. For our Council Members to represent us accurately and vote to DENY IKEA…they must hear from its residents. Please join us this Tuesday evening at Dublin’s City Council meeting to help convey our opposition of Ikea in Dublin? Bring your No Ikea signs and t-shirts. Ikea is recruiting speakers from outside of Dublin.

***IF YOU ONLY ATTEND ONE MEETING-THIS IS THE TIME!***

 Some stats and concerns:

-         Dublin Planning Commission thoroughly reviewed the project and recommend denial  (City Council has been known to go against PC’s recommendations)

-         Increased noise and air pollution from 18,000 additional vehicles per day

-         More 580/680 traffic congestion

-      Dublin/Pleasanton intersections rated at significant to near significant failure

-      Only 10% of the Ikea project’s customers are residents, 90% will come from San Joaquin, Solano, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and Sacramento counties

-       330+,000 sqft big box store is a big eyesore, the Glen/retail portion is quite small and no upscale stores nor restaurants are promised

-        Threat to Pedestrian and vehicular safety

-  Cannibalization of neighboring stores/tax revenue from those stores

Staff and some council members like to claim Ikea can sue us if we say no, but Ikea has no "just cause" to win the lawsuit.  Anyone can sue anyone today in California. But not everyone has just cause to win.

Dublin is better than this project.
