Our Heartfelt Thanks To You All!

We'd like to take this opportunity to express thanks to everyone who participated in our petition drive over the past month or so. It's awesome to see people coming together, united in some vision of a better community, working towards a common goal. I think everyone can be happy that we've gathered 495 signatures in just over four weeks! We sent the petitions, signatures and perceptive comments to the City Council clerk Friday night about 10:30 p.m. I had planned to send them earlier in the day, but people kept signing throughout the day and evening. So even though I sent 490 signatures to the city, the number now is 495! I will give an updated report at Monday night's council meeting. Hopefully we can get to at least 500 by then! Everyone can feel happy that we've been working together on a genuine grassroots campaign. We are not doing this to gain any financial advantage or seek any special privilege or treatment. We are simply a group of people who have seen a chance to try to make our community a little bit better -- and have tried our best to make it happen. We are very grateful to you all. It's very easy these days to become cynical about the ability of ordinary people to make a difference. But we have all been participants in just such an effort. And I'm liking our chances on Monday night!
