Dear supporters, Thank you so much for your support today. I've made a tiny bit of progress with the association in that they've agreed to house me in a motel until the end of the week, but I've decided to stay with friends. The uncertainty of the situation has been really stressful and has wreaked havoc on some of the basic aspects of my existence. Even though I'm a grown-up now, I experienced significant periods of abandonment from my gambling-addicted single mother as a teenager, so even though I have friends to stay with and emotional support, the situation has brought a lot of those memories back. I've heard that the association is preparing to circulate an official response defending their actions. They haven't given me any concrete explanation for why they're doing what they're doing, but I've found my integrity being consistently questioned throughout this process, even though I've lived in the House for two years prior to this and been elected president without any questions about my exemplary service. So if you find yourself reading justifications of the association's actions that seem persuasive to you, I only ask you to keep in mind that rationalization and victim-blaming are standard ways that institutions refuse to give up their power even as they oppress disadvantaged minorities. I know and stand by what I experienced and have lived an honorable life up to this point. I have no motive to lie about the damage that this situation has done to me, and have ample evidence and witnesses to stand by my claims. In the meantime, please continue sharing this petition.
