A brief update on the Little Wicomico River Jetty project:

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission has posted on their website-- https://www.northernneck.us/shallow-draft-dredging-plan that Phase 4 — listed as Final Design and Bid Document Preparation — is funded for FY26. This is an important step forward, as it ensures the engineering work and bid materials will move ahead.  We appreciate the continued work of NNPDC in helping move this critical project forward.

As for the actual dredging itself:
There are encouraging signs, but funding is not yet confirmed. Regional and state partners are coordinating a plan, and until we have formal documentation, we cannot say the dredging is funded. We’ll share verified updates as soon as we have them.
