Make Canada-Dry Blackberry Gingerale a year-round product

The Issue

I personally gave up drinking soda about 16 years ago, with the exception of an occasional Canada Dry Ginger ale when I had an upset stomach. I believe it's been 3 years now, but I finally found an amazing soda manufactured by The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group called; Canada Dry Blackberry Ginger ale, unfortunately it is a limited edition product; meaning they only manufacture and sell this product from March through July.

As a mother and grandmother I don't particularly like soda to begin with, but in a time when we are faced with so many unpredictable choices, it is certainly better than energy drinks, dark sodas, high caffeine choices, or even products that "claim" to be fruit drinks (i.e. Hawaiian Punch).

I like to believe that I am younger than I really am, but at age 39 I know that what I put in my body needs to be considered carefully, especially having Fibromyalgia and other disabling conditions.

It gets boring when all you really drink is water or coffee, I limit my coffee intake to one cup a day (for the caffiene - due to migraines), after that my choice is water, which is very boring. Then I found this awesome soda, it has an amazing flavor, it's only 140 calories per 12 Fl Oz, 0 Fat, 2% Sodium, and 12% Carbs (I tend to avoid carbs for the most part, but the small percentage found in Canada Dry's Blackberry Ginger ale is decent trade off. It adds a small variety to my beverages, but the flavor is one that has me buying this product 10-12 cases at a time, for fear of the company deciding to no longer manufacture it and because of it's limited run each year. My husband is even able to drink this soda guilt and worry free - he has high blood pressure that is still in the early stages of getting under control, so he has to limit sodium, caffeine, and so many other luxuries he's been accustomed to throughout life.

My sister and I both pretty much bought out every grocery store in our area this past year, with special orders anytime there was a sale. Having 7 members in my home alone, then with my sister and her husband also having the same addiction, those cases don't last long, so when I called the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group at 800-696-5891 and found out that I won't be able to find any more of this amazing soda until around March when production resumes. I have about four 2 liters left and five 12 pack of cans.

I personally only drink one can (or it's equivalent) over the course of 2-3 days in my Stainless Steel Tumbler (it keeps ice and drinks cold, no melting for up to 3 days). But due to my disabilities I do take many medications that cause upset stomach and/or nausea, I find that the Canada Dry Blackberry Ginger ale helps with the nausea.

Just like its originator, Canada Dry Ginger ale - the blackberry flavor also has properties to help settle your stomach without that flat ginger taste that gets left behind.

It is one of the few "low sodium" sodas that I've found, as well as being caffeine free, it's a soda I can let my grandchildren have as an occasional treat. It has one of the lowest "sugar" counts of any soda (comparable or not) that is not considered a "diet" or "sugar free" soda.

One thing I don't understand is how Canada Dry Cranberry Ginger ale is manufactured year round and is widely available, I personally would consider that product seasonal - as it is commonly a Holiday flavor. Though next to blackberry this is the next most tolerable soda I can drink.

*******************************************************************************

To recap:

We the undersigned urge the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group to consider making the Canada Dry Blackberry Ginger ale a year-round, widely available ~vs being regional ~, manufactured product. We also ask to also provide in more variety of packaging, 16oz bottles, 24pk bottles/cans, the mini bottles 6oz, the mini cans.

  • 100% Natural Flavors
  • Low Sodium (2% DV)
  • Caffeine Free
  • Stomach settling properties
  • Refreshing taste
  • Better for you than most other soda's on the market
  • Made with Real Ginger just like it's parent Ginger ale
  • All reviews available on this product are simply raving, the public wants this product available year round.

My absolute favourite pop
This is a new addition to the Canada Dry family and extremely difficult to find. Even when I do find it, I have to hide it so my kids don't drink it. Fruity but not over-the-top sweet. Just like the Original Canada Dry Gingerale. Thirst quenching and not too sweet. Hope this product stays around. Love it!!

STORE SHELF LABEL INDICATES THAT IS THE SPOT FOR THE BLACKBERRY GINGERALE. PLEASE MAKE MORE SO THAT I CAN GET MORE. IT IS ABSOLUTELY DEVINE

LOVE IT!
I tried this last year when they started putting out holiday/seasonal flavored drinks at the grocery store and became a HUGE fan. I'm glad my first time ever drinking ginger ale was with the Blackberry. After the holidays were over I was afraid they would take it out of store but its been there every since and I hope it stays!
