Keith Benson started this petition to Dr. Lamont Repollet and

The Camden City School District (CCSD) is currently facing a $27M deficit (down from $37M last year) heading into the 2019-2020 school year and our public school children, exclusively, have shouldered the burden of sustained cuts since the State took the District over in 2013.

As such, our students have less after-school programming, less guidance counselors, less custodial staff, less support staff, less electives, less instructional staff - less of everything needed to help provide the best education possible. And, with this looming deficit, I fear our students, again, will be alone in bearing the brunt of missing funds.

Therefore, I ask that the State Department of Education further assist CCSD in narrowing this $27M deficit by increasing aid for our public schools so that we can continue to provide the best education possible for our 7600 students. Our children and their education matter!
