The petition to rename Kennard to Wheeler Classical Junior Academy is just one step in a long process to honor a deserving educator while also leading St. Louis into a future where we can take great pride in our community. As you continue to show your support through sharing this petition, we'll be moving and shaking behind the scenes. A small and dedicated group at Kennard has been working on this for some time, and will continue as an internal force for change.
The petition crew contacted multiple media outlets and local politicians to make them aware of this campaign.
We have yet to hear directly from the Principal of KCJA, Dr. LeFlore, or the SLPS Superintendent, Dr. Adams. They both received the petition and are aware that we have officially brought this call to action into the public sphere. Having the support of the school community is vital to the success of this campaign.

We need Storytellers who can provide anecdotes about Betty that will convey why she is deserving of this great honor. With your stories, we know we can accomplish this momentous task!
