Only utilize non-lethal, humane techniques in managing the geese.

The Issue

Dr. Jack Piermatti and Titan Management presently have a goose depredation permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permitting them to utilize shotguns to manage the geese on the property they manage at the South Jersey Professional Center, 1001 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees, N.J. Three geese were found dead on a retention pond on this property. We were unable to determine how the geese had died but it appears that they could have been shot.  The following numbers of geese have been killed by shotgun on the 1001 Laurel Oak Road property as indicated on U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - Migratory Bird Permit Office, Depredation - Annual Reports, submitted by Dr. Piermatti:

2012 = 36

2013 = 43

2014 = 42

Total =121

We are urging Dr. Piermatti and Titan Management to only utilize non-lethal, humane techniques in managing the geese on the property they manage. These non-lethal, humane techniques are promoted by the Humane Society of the United States, GeesePeace and the Coalition to Prevent the Destruction of Canada Geese.
