Hello everyone,
If you haven't yet phoned or written your MPP, or Minister Tibollo, expressing how library service cuts are affecting you, now's a great time. Minister Tibollo posted on his Twitter account that he'll be meeting with officials from both the Southern Ontario Library Service and the Ontario Library Service - North later this week. If enough of us tell him how we feel before the meeting, he'll know library officials aren't exaggerating the effects of the cuts.
Late last week, I posted an update that included a link to a generic form letter you can use: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M339ODWxLdQbgfjniZfTVldFSZohCAGThc-RrVT3E5w/edit
Be sure to fill it in with your own story, if you're so inclined; there's space to do so. Also, please open the Google Doc in your own online drive or save it to your desktop before editing - it helps with privacy.
Here is a list of contact information for MPPs: https://www.ola.org/en/members/current/contact-information
And, of course, for Minister Tibollo: https://www.ola.org/en/members/all/michael-a-tibollo
Give them a piece of your mind, so libraries can help you keep growing it!
Thanks so much for all you do to help restore funding to the Ontario library services. It's so appreciated.
