Please continue to encourage your friends, family members and co-workers to sign the petition..
We know that not everyone agrees with our stance and that is okay. We are not here to argue or to "prove a point." Many folks are scared and they are being reactive. And a reactive response is not always a warm response. Many folks also don't understand what is happening in construction. It is our job to educate. When you ask the average person what they think of when they think of "construction" or "construction sites", they will talk about high rises, building houses, lots of people on a jobsite, working in confined spaces, lack of sanitation, etc. It is hard for them to imagine other scenarios and possibilities.
In an attempt to build community, we have created a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/755543224849689/ This will be a place to share thoughts (respectfully), ideas, news articles, mobilization efforts, etc. Our group is small, but we are hoping that it will balloon in the coming days. It takes time to build momentum and affect change...which is why we have started this now as opposed to later on.
